Mamas, mark your calendars because your little ones would love the show Balloonacy, which has performances coming up at Trike Theatre beginning March 30th through April 6, 2019 or at the Arts Center of the Ozarks location on April 10-13, 2019.
Balloonacy is a sweet, inventive show packed with physical comedy. The play explores the power of friendship and shows how — with a little imagination and acceptance — companionship is everywhere. This play is part of the Little Trike Series.
Bill Rogers, (shown here) who portrays the main character in the play, described the show this way: “I love the simplicity and sweetness of the script. It reminds me of aspects of the movie ‘UP’ as well as the old movie, ‘The Red Balloon.’ It’s a great choice for Trike in that it demonstrates the importance, fun and sometimes the challenges of friendship.”
If you can sneak away during the day, the weekday shows at the Arts Center of the Ozarks location (April 10-13) are a great way to beat the rush.
Trike Theatre does offer group rates, so if you’d like to bring your whole playgroup, church group or preschool class along, be sure to call ahead and ask for information on group rates.
Here’s a fun bonus that comes along with tickets to this play. Each household will receive a Play in a Box as they leave. (It’s a tangible box that you can take home with you, which is what makes this show special! The Play in a Box includes manipulates, access to watching the show afterwards, family guide with intentional questions for families about the show, and a book of the show!)
If you can’t make it to see Balloonacy on the dates mentioned above, there’s one more great show in the Little Trike Series this spring. It’s called Turning Red: Learning to Choose Love. It’s an original play based on the Choose Love Movement that focuses on courage, gratitude, forgiveness, and compassion.
Show dates for “Choose Love” are April 27th through May 4, 2019 at Trike Theatre and then May 11th through May 18, 2019 at the Arts Center of the Ozarks location.
