Editor’s note: Congratulations to winner Pam Lewis of Lowell, mom to Riley, 6, Sophia, 2, and 10-month-old Amelia! Pam is taking her husband to the show because she can’t even remember the last date they had. Have fun, Mike and Pam!
We know just how important it is to get away with the girls every now and then. Sometimes it’s necessary to tap into our inner girl who loves to giggle, hook arms with her friends and take off on a little adventure.
Today we’re giving away two tickets to see Hairspray, Broadway’s Tony Award-winning musical-comedy phenomenon! And you know what else? Dinner at the fabulous Bordinos — as well as a basket full of hair products, courtesy of Rhonda Moulder (who writes the hair blog “Help Me Rhonda” on this website) and the salon Estella Studio.
FYI: Rhonda is moving to a brand new salon called Estella Studio, located at 1309 S. Walton, Suite 1, in Bentonville. Call her at 586-5100 or 464-4996 for an appointment at the new salon. Rhonda is putting together a collection of some of her favorite hair products for the winner of this giveaway, so that lucky mom will have lots of “good hair days” in her future.
We think this could be just what the doctor ordered for a hard-working mama who needs a night on the town with her best friend! Don’t you agree? Total value on this giveaway package is more than $200. Cha-ching!
If you think this sounds like fun, here’s how to sign up: Just click on the big orange comment button at the bottom of this post and tell us about your favorite beauty product(s). Do you have a favorite hairspray? Is there a lipstick that you just can’t live without? Would that particular mascara make it on your if-I-could-only-have-five-things-on-a-desert-island list? We’d love to know!
About the show: Hairspray makes its awaited return to Walton Arts Center after a crowd-pleasing performance in 2007! It’s a musical with a beat you can laugh to! This mega-hit is piled, bouffant-high with hilarity and romance. The New York Times said “If life were everything it should be, it would be more like HAIRSPRAY! It’s irresistible!“
Take a little trip back to 1962 Baltimore, when JFK was in The White House, John Glen was in orbit, Cadillacs had fins and bee-hive hairdos were in vogue. Watch as pleasantly plump 16-year-old Tracy Turnblad sets out to twist and shout her way onto TV’s most popular dance program, “The Corny Collins Show.” Can a big girl with big dreams – and even bigger hair – change the world…and still have time to win the boy she loves?
Based on John Waters’ 1988 film of the same name, Hairspray won a Grammy for Best Musical Show Album in 2002 and an astonishing eight 2003 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Sixteen years after the release of the original film, a second big screen adaptation of Hairspray hit theaters, starring John Travolta and Michelle Pfeiffer. Now, after two hit movies and a stunningly successful run on Broadway, this musical-comedy is back on tour.
About the food: Bordinos is just the perfect place for all special occasions! And celebrating girlfriends is something we consider special. They have the fancy drinks to go along with the delicious food — and desserts that are worth getting dressed up for.

Good luck, pretty mamas!
My favorite hairspray is Big & Sexy because I love for my hair to be full and poofy! My mascara and eyeliner that I have to have are Victoria Secrets midnight black. And for lipgloss I love them all!!!
I love Clinique’s Egyptian eyeliner, it goes on smooth, the color is not as harsh as black, and has just a hint of sparkle. What more could you ask for.
I love all beauty products! I have to have Clinique quick corrector for those dark cirlces from sleepless nights after taking care of the baby or sick children.
My favorite hairspray is Aussie Mega Hairspray, smells so good. As far as make-up goes, I could not live without my Clinique Pure Posh lipstick!
As a mom of a 4 month old and a 4 year old, hands down, my favorite beauty product is a cream concealer.
Hands down – Bed Head products. I love them. So much that my favorite product – Body Building Funkifier – isn’t sold in stores anymore and I’ve been buying it in bulk whenever I find it!
My favorite beauty product is Arbonne’s Rejuvenating Cream – it’s a great moisturizer that I can’t live without!
I absolutley love Maybelline’s Shiny-Licious lip gloss. It makes me instantly feel a little prettier. It makes my lips look great. I also am addicted to hair serum… it makes my hair so soft and silky. One more thing I cant live without is face wash… if it smells good it’s even better. Talk about aroma therapy!!!
Oh yes, one more!!! Maybelline’s water proof liquid eyeliner in very black… I wear it everday and it stays put until you take it off!!!
I love using that big sexy hair spray. I have thin hair and it helps it look fuller.
I can’t live without a good powder! My favorite is by Aveda! Add a little blush and some mascara and I can take on the world!
I would have to say my favorite beauty product is Vaseline. Ok, ok it’s not actually a beauty product but it is something I carry with me everywhere to keep my lips smooth. 🙂
I really love Rockaholic Fun Times hairspray- I think I’ve tried every hairspray available in the US…. maybe some from over seas as well? TIGI’s Rockaholic ROCKS though- keeps everything in shape (I have fine, oily type hair) but isn’t hard or sticky- *party like a rock star!*
I love Almay’s cream tinted blush. You just take a dab and when you rub it on your cheek, it transforms to just the right color!
My favorite beauty product would have to be a good, long-lasting lip balm. I love all of the lip balms at Bath & Body Works and find they stay on long. I always need a good lp balm on hand!
I am living off of any type of moisturizer right now! This winter has been brutal to my skin. I love Oil of Olay’s 7 in 1 and Aveeno body products.
I really love Arbonne face care products, they keep my skin at a perfect moisture.
Year round, my favorite thing to keep my lips from drying out is Mary Kay Satin Lips Lip Balm. I put it on before I put on my lipstick. My lips never get chapped since I started using it. And one little tube lasts a looong time!
Clinique eye shadow! It stays on all day long.
I love to use Biosilk products, they work very well!!!
ALL of my hair products are “the most important” to me! Pureology line of shampoos for amplyifing colored hair is a must (being from Texas and NEEDING big hair)! I also couldn’t live without TIGI BedHead Hard Head hairspray! I guess the other stuff would just be extra but those things are MUST for me 🙂
The most important beauty products for me are my face lotion & mascara! I have 2 have those 2 things if nothing else:)
I love Maybelline’s Full’N Soft Mascara. I’ve tried others but always go back to this one.
I love the Chi de-frizzing hair lotion – I’d be a big frizzy mess without it!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my bare essentials make up!
My favorite make up is bare minerals. It has great coverage but allows your face to breath:) Also I have very full lips so my lip trick is applying vaseline instead of chap stick. It really helps keep them soft especially during these cold dry winter months:)
My face loves Avon’s ANEW Night Gold Emulsion…It hydrates and takes away all the bad stuff your skin had to deal with all day. Sweet Dreams!
I love my Mary Kay Satin Hands!!! I can’t function without it!! My mother gave me my first tube over 20 years ago.
Hairspray was the first musical I ever fell in love with as a teenager although I never use the product. My favorite products are anti-frizz for hair, Lacura lip balm and any kind of bronzer.
Bumble & Bumble styling creme for my short, fine hair! I’ve actually gotten comments that my hair has good body. If they only knew . . . 🙂 Would LOVE to see Hairspray, and Bordino’s? What a treat.
I love Mary Kay lipstick, and anything made by Olay.
I have naturally frizzy hair so i can’t live without my kerastase relaxing cream!
My favorite beauty product is True Shimmer Chapstick. It really helps keep my lips from drying out.
I can’t live without my Bumble and Bumble spray de mode… the stuff rocks!!! Would love to see hairspray and bordinos is hands down my fav restaurant!!! 🙂
I’ve recently discovered “Burt’s Bee’s Lip Balm in Sheer Luminescent Color.” It’s totally replaced my lipstick, love it!
I love Burt’s Bees original lip balm.
My very favorite is Clinique face powder! I just moisturize and apply…no foundation.
Love, love, love Bumble Bumble volumizing shampoo!!
cover FX products rock!
I love Aveda Witch Hazel hairspray. It holds well without being too stiff.
Dramatically different moisturizing lotion by Clinique is my favorite thing. It’s the best lotion for your face….it moisturizes without being oily.
I am faithful to oil of olay, every night, every day!
I really like the bee bar lotion. It really helps those dry cracked hands.
My favorite hair products are Big Sexy Hair Root Pump Plus, Sebastian Shaper Plus Hairspray, Beyond Zone Noodle Head Hair Cream for the days I wear my hair curly. My favorite makeup is Clinique, especially the creamy lipstick and love the eyeliner!!
Definitely Jane Iredale or Youngblood makeup!
Can’t live without my Bobbi Brown eye creme and my trusty mascara (the kind in the pink tube with green cap, of course)!
I do not wear makeup or use a lot of hair products but I do love the look of healthy hair and skin. I eat right, drink a lot of water and try hard to get enough sleep, easier said then done with a four year old, in an attempt to keep myself looking and feeling as healthy and well as possible.
Rachel
I can’t do without my Tresemme anti-frizz lotion, especially in winter. It really stops the static electricity in my hair. My newest favorite find is Sally Hansen’s lip-plumping gloss.
I love my Bare Essentials makeup and John Freida curl control mousse. I think I’ve used every curl product out there and this one works and is affordable – which is good since my makeup costs so much!
I love origins eye cream.
I love Redkin’s Align 12 and Smooth Down-Heat Glide also by Redkin. Favorite Hairspray is Garnier Fructis-Strong Hold, Humidity Control, awesome in the summer.
And absolute favorite Mascara is Maybelline – Collosal! If you don’t have any lashes or need them to look plump and full this will do the trick!
My favorite makeup is Mary Kay’s mineral powder foundation. It doesn’t have the “glitter” I found in the Bare Mineral product.
I have a hair product! Moroccan Oil It is used for dry hair that creates a shine which also brings it under control with a sleek straight look.
I love Mary Kay products!
I love Bare Essentials powder foundation and Burt’s Bees Orange Essence Cleanser.
I love Covergirl Outlast all-day lipcolor. The color stays on all day, and all I have to do is just put on lip gloss throughout the day.
I’m a fan of powder foundation. Right now I’m using Mary Kay. Also, my hands get extremely dry in the winter and I love Eucerin lotions.
I can’t face the day without my mascara!
I can’t live without my Burt’s Bees chapstick… I also love Pureology Power Dressing..
Thanks Mamas!
My favorite is my Clinique foundation- it stays on all days, is the right shade and it doesn’t look like I am wearing a mask.
I love Clinique products. I am allergic to make-up and this is the one product that doesn’t bother me.
Would love a date night with my hubby.
My must haves are mascara and eyeliner otherwise I look like I have no eyes at all. Also, must have daily moisturizer especially during the winter months.
I love my Beauty Control Gold Eye Cream. I never miss a day! And of course lipstick – any kind. Can’t go out of the house without lipstick on!
I have two staples… Clinique powder and “Surprise” lipstick.
I have fine straight hair and love my Texturizing paste by Tressa. It’s awesome, I just dry my hair and run about a dimes worth through my hair and it takes care of all my fly-aways and gives it a boost! Looks like I went to the stylist!
I love the burt’s bees chapstick. I use chapstick every night to keep my lips from drying out.
My favorite hair product is the Kenra clear paste for styling. I have short-ish hair and it’s great for adding body and definition without making my hair appear oily!
I can’t make it without my Oil of Olay
sensitive skin moisturizing lotion.
I haven’t been able to find it at
Walmart lately but Target has it.
I love, LOVE Lancome’s Bienfait tinted moisturizer. I have dry skin so I need to apply moisturizer before any kind of makeup and a lot of times I just wouldn’t apply any because I wanted my skin to breathe. Bienfait is perfect because it is creamy and it has SPF 30 (huge plus). You also only need, literally a tiny drop and it will give you perfect not-so-heavy coverage while moisturizing and protecting. Because I use so little of it, it lasts me months – which is great because it’s a little pricey. That has to be my favorite beauty product thus far.
I love the blush from Cargo…Barbary Coast…different blends of dark pinks…
I can not live without any of my Beauty Society products. I LOVE Enormous Lash!
I must say I don’t have a brand specific makeup that I wear but I have to have powder and blush before I can leave the house. Other than that I look pretty blah.
I love burts bees radiance face cream…just the right touch of soft and glowy
I’m a big fan of Arbonne bronzing powder!
What an awesome giveaway!
I could really use a night out. Kinda going through spring fever.I agree with Jamie, I love my Arbonne bronzing powder. It is a must for everyone.
I really love the Chanel black mascara, it goes on smooth, lengthens and doesn’t clump. This would be such a treat! Thanks!
I love my Mary Kay make-up…no comparison!
I don’t wear a lot of makeup – I’m a stay-at-home mom of a 5 and 1 year old. When I do go out during the day I put on powder and lip gloss and I’m usually good to go. This give away sound like a lot of fun. I would take my sister. She lives in NWA, but we don’t see each other very often because of different schedules with kids, etc.. I think it would be a fun time to spend with her.
Right now it is Mary Kay moisturizer.
Aveda all sensitive moisturizer and Bare Escentual product line. You can sleep in this make-up and not worry about breakouts.
Must have hairspray – 80’s girl! 🙂
Love waterproof mascara and good make-up – love Clinique!
I love the Philosophy line of products that Sephora carries. Hope in a Bottle is the best wrinkle cream ever!
I don’t wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis, but I must have my mascara and lipgloss.
One of my top movies of all time, can’t wait to see the play. I love my RoC facial products and can’t live without Clinique Mascara
Ojon Voluminizing Hairspray is the ultimate. It gives hair texture and hold without weighing it down.
I’m a fan of Aveda hair products especially the root boost.
My most fav beauty item is my instyler. I have natural curly hair, that I love. However sometimes i jaut need a change. A friend got the instyler and didnt like it, so to my good fourtine she gave it to me. I love the thing. It’s quick and easy and doesnt crease my hair like the flat iron does.
I love aussie hair products! They are reasonably priced and I think they work just as well as any of the expensive products I have tried! I do however love cliniques mascaras and moisturizer!
