And it really is a great package for us romance-starved moms. Unfortunately, it can only go to one person. And that person is …. Kaysi Risenhoover!!!!
Kaysi wasn’t completely convinced she really won until she called and tentatively said she’d received an e-mail…. When it became clear to her that she’d really won an overnight stay at Aloft Hotel — as well as dinner and movie tickets — Kaysi got really excited.
When I asked who she planned to take, she said with a laugh: “My husband!”
Well, I didn’t know for sure if she had one or not, but her comment on the giveaway did indicate some daughters:
“I want to appreciate the Walton Arts Center. I love being able to drive a short distance to see quality Broadway shows. I’ve been able to take my daughters to see Annie and The Wizard of Oz. They love it! Thanks for bringing arts to NWA!”
Kaysi and her husband, Jim, have two daughters, 10-year-old Grace and 6-year-old Presley.
Kaysi is originally from Oklahoma, which is where she first met Jim in seventh grade. The Risenhoovers have lived in Rogers for 12 years and they both work at Walmart’s home office. Their girls are into sports as are they. In fact, Kaysi was on her way to the Lady Razorbacks game after we spoke.
Kaysi has never been to Aloft Hotel, but said she had some friends who raved about it after a New Year’s Eve event there. She’s also never been to Crabby’s, but can’t wait to try it out with her sweetie. They’ll celebrate their 16th wedding anniversary in early April and she thinks that might be the perfect time to take advantage of her gift.
She said it might take her until then to figure out someone to keep the girls. She suspects she can lure some grandparents down from Oklahoma to help.
When asked if she remembers the last time she and her husband enjoyed an overnight stay alone, Kaysi thought for quite some time before replying, “No!”
