Join the Scott Family Amazeum for Tinkerfest, a one-day event that brings together tinkerers, makers, DIYers, and creatives of all ages for hands-on activities that celebrate curiosity. Try, Play, and Make. Tinkerfest features activations to promote tinkering and making created by local tinkerers, the Amazeum team, and regional and national museums and science centers. This year’s Tinkerfest will feature more than 25 hands-on activities designed to spark creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration for all ages. Price included with Amazeum general admission tickets.

Get ready to break out your lederhosen and spice your pumpkins. Downtown Fayetteville Coalition (DFC) presents Falltoberfest, a celebration of all things Fall in Fayetteville.

Sugar Skull: A Dia de Muertos Musical Adventure
FamJam is a Jones Center program for families who want to kickstart their weekend in a fun and active way. Kids and parents are invited to an ultimate afternoon or evening of playtime and learning. FamJam offers a combined ticket for your family to enjoy a delightful performance and participate in our indoor recreation activities. The Oct. 11 show is about twelve-year-old Vita Flores, who thinks her family has gone loco planning a celebration for deceased loved ones. Why throw a party for the dead? But when a spirited candy skeleton suddenly springs to life, Vita finds herself on a magical, musical journey to unravel the true meaning of Día de Muertos. Join Vita, Sugar Skull and a cast of characters for a heartwarming experience the whole family will love. This bilingual/bicultural musical adventure arrives just in time to remind us all that family and community are at the heart of every celebration. Tickets are $10 for public/$8 for members and include access to all of the day’s FamJam events. Each FamJam Saturday includes: Featured family entertainment performance (11am or 2pm); indoor ice skating (12:30-2:30 pm and 7-9 pm) and swimming (12-6 pm); a themed craft activity (after the show).

The Friendly Bookstore’s 40th Birthday Party
The Friendly Bookstore will celebrate its 40th birthday with a party on Oct. 12 at the Rogers Public Library. There will be fire truck tours, animals, face painting, a magician, food and more. The bookstore is an all-volunteer non-profit operated by the Friends of the Rogers Public Library, and 100% of our proceeds go to benefit the Rogers Public Library. The Bookstore is stocked with donations from individuals and the library, and the community loves us because we are able to offer books, games, puzzles, CDs, DVDs, VHS, and more at bargain prices.
