Do you have a child or grandchild who adores art? Or loves playing fun games with friends?
Well, this event will be right up their alley!
Walton Arts Center is hosting a “Family Art Night Out” on Thursday, March 28, right before the wonderful kids’ show, You and Me and the Space Between.
WAC has invited various local partners for pre-show arts & crafts, puzzles, games and learning opportunities for families centered around the ideas of sustainability, climate change and reducing impact.
All of these themes are in the show, which revolves around the island of Proud Circle. When Proud Circle springs a leak, its citizens must find a way to stop their home from disappearing. It takes the wondering mind of a child to save the island, its people and their ways.
The show starts at 7 p.m., but the art fun starts a full hour before that! Here are some of the awesome local organizations that will help make art night rock:
- Ozark Natural Science Center
- Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge
- Canopy NWA
- NWA Land Trust
- Botanical Garden of the Ozarks
- Fayetteville & Washington County Recycling
- Tri Cycle Farms
- University of Arkansas Entomology
- Museum of Native American History
When it’s time for the show at 7, you can expect storytelling, choreographed projections and live drawn animation that explores the plight of refugees fleeing environmental change — through the eyes of a child. (FYI, Walton Arts Center says this show is best for kids ages 7+)
Tickets are only $9!
