First Thursday on the Fayetteville Square

First Thursday FayettevilleFirst Thursday Fayetteville is a monthly event held on the Downtown Fayetteville Square, celebrating original works of art. On the first Thursday of each month, an outdoor art walk, live music, and a charity beer garden take over the Square, while participating galleries and art-related venues offer free access to visual and performing art starting at 5 p.m.

Back to School First Friday

Using the First Friday Back to School and Bentonville Farmers Market as the festival’s foundation, Downtown Bentonville will host a children’s event that features activities, music and entertainment geared towards children and families ages 1-13 years old. Downtown Bentonville Inc. continues to create and grow its community celebrations throughout the 1,765 acres of downtown. On the first Friday of every month, between March and November, the Bentonville Square is transformed into a huge block party filled with live music, great food and lots of fun for an entire day. Several of our First Friday events have grown so much in popularity that they have become three day to month long festivals!

Fayetteville Summer Reading Club Finale

Join FPL for lively African music by Afrique Aya during the  Summer Reading Club grand prize drawings. Afrique Aya is a group of dancers and drummers dedicated to sharing the musical traditions of West Africa, which often serve as an important component of storytelling. Through their performances, they also expose children to the culture of West Africa.

Fight Back 5K and Fun Run

fun runThe race will benefit American Cancer Society and help fund groundbreaking research on the causes of cancer and to someday find a cure for cancer. The race will be held at 7:30 am on August 17th in Bentonville. There will be a Fun Run tailored for kids as well as the 5K. Each child will receive a medal for the Fun Run and entry for the Fun Run is only $10.

8th Annual Secchi Day on Beaver Lake

The public is invited to attend the 8th annual Secchi Day on Beaver Lake at Prairie Creek Recreation Area, located just a few miles east of Rogers on Hwy. 12. This family friendly “science day at Beaver Lake” includes hands-on water science and ecology fun for all ages, as well as snacks, lunch and ice cream.

President Clinton’s Birthday Celebration

The Clinton House Museum will host a birthday party for President Bill Clinton’s 67th birthday on Saturday, August 17th. The former home of the Clintons will offer free admission and extended hours in honor of the celebration on Saturday and Monday. Refreshments will include President Clinton’s favorite snacks: Moon Pies, peanuts, RC Cola, and of course–birthday cake. Stop by and sign Bill’s birthday card and share favorite President Clinton stories!
