Farmer’s Market Opening Day on the Fayetteville Squarefayetteville farmers market

Join Mayor Lioneld Jordan and NWA producers at the opening day of Fayetteville’s Farmer’s Market! This farmer’s market is one of the biggest in the NWA area, and is always brimming with delicious local produce, grass fed meats, artisan cheeses, farm fresh eggs, jams, jellies, crafts, and more! But if you miss opening day, don’t worry—the Fayetteville Farmer’s Market happens every Saturday, April through November, 7am to 2pm.

Free Yoga in Downtown Springdale

Downtown Springdale is hosting an outdoor yoga class every Saturday from April to August! The class will be held near the farmer’s market and the Razorback Greenway. Bring your own mat if possible, but don’t worry if you don’t have one—they will have 25 mats available to borrow. Water will be provided. Every other Saturday, a Spanish-speaking instructor will lead the class. This event is free and open to all ages.

Coffee & Cars in Springdale

One of Springdale’s most beloved spring and summer traditions returns—Coffee & Cars! The first Saturday of every month (between April and October), head to downtown Springdale to enjoy complimentary coffee from Trailside Coffee Company and view lots of beautiful antique, muscle, and show cars. This event is free and open to the public.

Joe Martin Stage Race

If you have a bike-lover in your family, head to downtown Fayetteville on Sunday, April 2 for the Joe Martin bike race’s criterium (or “crit”) races: see amateur and professional cyclists race round and round a short “track” from the Fayetteville Square to Dickson, down to the corner at the Walton Arts Center, and back up Church Street. It’s a fast-paced, fun event for the whole family.

Cycling Events at Fayetteville Public Library

The City of Fayetteville is teaming up with local cycling enthusiast groups Bike Fayetteville and Girls Bike Fayetteville to present a series of fun and educational presentations for new cyclists! The topics will be:
– Introduction to Bicycle Commuting
– Biking for Better Health
– Choosing the Right Bike for You
– Introduction to Women’s Cycling

Books on Tap at Black Apple Crossing

Books on Tap is a monthly book club hosted by the Springdale Public Library, held at Black Apple Crossing cidery. This month’s book is Dog Medicine by Julie Barton, a memoir of  “the anguish of depression, the slow path to recovery, the beauty of forgiveness, and the astonishing ways animals can help heal even the most broken hearts and minds.”

First Friday: International Festivalinternational festival

The Bentonville square is going to be transformed into a stage for an International Festival! Enjoy live music, dancing, and performances from many different cultures. Bonuses: Food trucks and family-friendly activities! The festival (and food trucks) will open at 11am, and the international performances will happen between 5 and 8pm.

First Friday Flix: Finding Dory

Join Bentonville Parks and Recreation for a free outdoor showing of Finding Dory on Lawrence Plaza. This event will happen on the first Friday of each month from April to October.

Windmill Theatre’s Grug & The Rainbow

Windmill Theatre Company travels all the way from Australia to present the story of Grug, who looks like a small, striped haystack with feet and a nose. Fascinated by the world around him and very determined, Grug sets out on an epic adventure to find a rainbow.  Featuring exquisite puppetry, bopping tunes and gentle storytelling, this show will draw your child into the delightful world of Grug. Perfect for even the tiniest theatergoers!

Renaissance Faire of the Ozarksrenaissance fair

If you have a history buff in the family, the Renaissance Faire of the Ozarks will be a hit! See Springdale’s Parsons Stadium transformed into an English village, complete with actors in costume, entertainers, vendors, performances, and jousting! This event is family friendly.

Maker Studio: SewSimple at the Springdale Public Library

SewSimple is a new Maker Studio program at the Springdale Library, designed for adults and teens who are interested in learning how to sew. Sewing machines and project supplies will be provided, but space is limited. Registration is required. To register, please stop by the Information Desk or call the Library at 479-750-8180.

Spring Fling at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarksspring fling

The Botanical Garden is hosting a kid-friendly event to kick off their Little Sprouts program season. They will have preschool and elementary level garden programs and activities and live musical performances. Picnics are encouraged!

El Dia de los Niñosel dia de los ninos

Crystal Bridges is holding their 4th annual El Dia de los Niños party this month! This celebration celebrates the creativity and energy of children throughout the world and our community. The event will feature entertainment by and for children, including music, dance, and artmaking. This event is free and open to the public, and no registration is required.

The Bentonville Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting its 2nd annual Mother & Son Dance at the end of April. Create special memories at the Candyland-themed event with dinner, dancing, a photo booth, candy, Mother’s Day crafts, and more! Registration is required for this event.

Moving Together: Walk – Run – Roll

This 10K, 5K, and 1-mile fun run event is in support of communities that support participation and acceptance for their disabled members. The 1-Mile Fun Run, Walk, Roll is an inclusive event designed for individuals of all abilities to come together and enjoy being active while having fun for a good cause. Sign up in April, because the registration price goes up after April 22!
