  1. My most recent “mom” moment came when I was getting ready to eat out with my family.

I had just helped my almost three year old son out of his car seat. We were standing beside our car when he saw another vehicle driving in the parking lot. He pulled me back in toward the car – and himself – and said, “Stay back, Mom.”

It warmed my heart to realize he was looking out for my safety.

  2. I have a new favorite moment just about every day, but yesterday my 2 1/2 year old came running down stairs after his nap and gave me a big hug and told me he missed me. It made my day!

  3. I don’t think my previous post worked so I am posting again. I would LOVE to win this spa giveaway! It’s been too long since I’ve been pampered!! Thanks!!

  4. I had a surprising moment when picking up my 7 1/2 yr old daughter from school. As my tall, long-legged beautiful girl navigated the crowd to my car, I barely recognized her, and I realized that my internal image of her is about 4 yrs old. She took my breath away.

  5. My mom moments happen everday. I have 3 boys who love it when I play baseball, football, and video games with them. Just seeing how excited they get when I ask them if they want to go play warms my heart.

  6. One of my favorite mom moments was when I heard/seen both of my girls pray for the first time. There is nothing sweeter! My 3 yr old holds nothing back when she prays! She prays about every little thing (she prayed for months for her pumpkin that someone stole to come back..sniff)!! And seeing my 1 yr old close her eyes and say ‘maymen’ (amen) at the end of a prayer…awww it melts this momma’s heart!

  7. I love it when my son Austin wakes up and just wants to cuddle, it is the sweetest moment ever. Usually he will just crawl up in my lap and put his hand on my cheek and sit there for a while. It is great! This is my first mother’s day without my mom and it is going to very difficult, it would be awesome to have a relaxing day at the spa to help relax and take my mind off of the many stresses life has to offer.

  8. Yesterday, my 7 year old daughter looked through my jewelry box and said: “Mom, as soon as you’ll let me, I am sooooo going to wear your jewelry”. I guess that was a compliment from My little girl who is growing up.

  9. My mom moment is when my daughter wakes up in the morning, comes to my bed and wants to cuddle and give kisses to my cheek. It just melts my heart and gets me motivated to get out of bed to begin our day together!

  10. I have so many lately. My 1 year old is very selective with her kisses and hugs so when she initiates them I know she really means it. πŸ˜‰ My 3 year old son said this the other day, “Mommy. You are CUTE! And good. And (he gets all shy and quiet) pretty.” Heart melted. I can die happy now. πŸ˜‰

  11. Some of my favorite mummy moments are listening to my 3 children play and interact with each other – I love their conversations!

  12. My recent favorite mommy moment was when I ran out for an errand and I came home and my daughter said – “I missed you so much Mommy!”

  13. Some of my favorite mom moments are in the wee hours of the morning when the house is quiet & I’m nursing a little one & can enjoy the moment without all the normal chaos going on!

  14. OMG-I had a tour of East Meets West (too poor to actually use it yet) and it is VERY VERY NICE! Last night my daughter, who was learning Arkansas History in Kindergarten last week, was writing a letter to Gov. Mike Beebe in her cute little Kindergarten scratch. She asked “How is it like to be a governor/I hope to hear back from you soon/For example, is it frustrating?”

    Too cute!

    I DO NEED PAMPERING!!!!!

  15. A couple of weeks ago, my 7 year old daughter asked my husband and me several times when we were going to go to bed. We couldn’t figure out why she wanted to know until we did finally go to bed and she had left little love notes and poems on each of our pillows.

  16. Last night I was laying with my 2 year old he was rubbing my hair/head just like I do to him when he is getting ready to go to sleep.

  17. There are too many moments to count! I have a very active little boy, so anytime I can get him to stop and snuggle for a few moments between squealing and bouncing is precious.

  18. My favorite moment is when my one year old son crawls his way over to his five year old brother and reaches up to him to give him a big hug. As he hugs him he gives him a pat on the back. They are so adorable and show so much love for each other. I know they will never be alone in this world.

  19. My beautiful daughter is almost @ six months with my first grandchild, a girl.
Every moment I spend with her and Daddy to be is just precious. It has been nice having her ask me questions about when I was pregnant with her. She was happy to learn I never had morning sickness and even happier to know I had no stretch marks. I only gained twenty pounds and it seems as if she may be on target for just a bit more, she is taller and needs the lbs.
Also sharing all sorts of here before unknown information this year with my own Mother has been wonderful.

  20. There are so many wonderful mom moments each and everyday, it would be hard to choose just one but here goes. The other day my daughter was sick, my sister was sitting with her while I finished up work, when I got home she just crawled into my lap, snuggled down and went right to sleep. It’s always hard having a sick child but to know that my just being there can bring her some comfort really warmed my heart.

  21. My most memorable and recent mom moment is on the funny side. I was holding my 2 year old in front of the mirror and she was pushing on my… (ahem!) chest. She said, “You have a baby in your bra!” I laughed my head off and still am.

  22. Just today I stopped by my seven year-old daughter’s school to share lunch with her. During our conversation she said, “Mom, you always know best.” It really tickled me because goodness knows she won’t think that in another five years or so. I wish I could have recorded it to play for her at fifteen.

  23. As a single mom with three young boys, i have to say I love the rainy days when they all grab a handful of books and pile around me on my bed…They told me nobody tells the stories right like me.

  24. I was lucky enough to nurse my little boy for 14 months. I enjoyed every moment of it and treasured our “time” together even in the middle of the night. He was always so happy to see me and would lay patting me while he nursed. I was heart broken when he self-weaned in March. Maybe he knew something I didn’t….there is a new baby on the way! πŸ™‚ I would love to win this spa getaway since just knowing I will be juggling two under two this Christmas is exhausting!

  25. One of my favorite moments is when I bounce my 10-month-old my knee playing “horsey”. She loves it. When I stop, she starts bouncing up and down on her own and moving her arms.

  26. My six year old daughter told me the following:
“Momma, do you know how much I love you?”
    “How Much?”, I replied.
    “50 thousand, 600 hundred, 54! That’s a lot mom!”
It filled my heart with joy!!!!!

  27. My 4 year old is supposed to go to her school tommorow for a kindergarten placement test. She thinks if she doesn’t answer the questions, then she won’t have to go next year. She thinks kindergarten is going to make her “tired”. She is a handful! But worth every moment!

  28. My 5yr old 4yr old and 10month old wake up every morning with a smile and a snuggle not one morning is there an unhappy face in my home and to me that is a blessing!!!!!!

  29. My favorite moments with my son are when he climbs onto my lap or back while I am at the computer and snuggles with me. He won’t snuggle as much at any other time!

  30. My favorite mom moment is walking into the room when my little girl wakes up in the morning. She gives me the biggest smile.

  31. I had the best Mom momment of all this past Sunday. My two oldest children got baptised together. It was so precious and emotional for me. I didn’t think I would cry, but the second their feet went in the water I just broke down and sobbed. I will never forget that.

  32. One of my favorite “mom moments” happened today while I was cooking dinner…watching my almost 7 yr old daughter help her step-dad plant trees in the backyard in the rain. She came in the house, soaking wet, muddy and said “Mom! Brad and I had Arbor Day today!” I couldn’t help but laugh!

  33. I don’t know if it is possible to pick only one favorite moment…

However, a recent great moment was when my 4 year old wanted me to pick him up and he proceeded to give me a great big, cuddly hug. He then looked me in the eyes and smiled his precious smile and while my heart was about to explode with love, he told me, “Hehe, I just wiped all my snot on your shirt.”

Moments like that are what define motherhood. πŸ™‚

  34. One of my favorite moments was when I was expecting my younger daughter. I was having a terrible day of morning sickness. My older daughter (2 1/2 at the time) and I were eating lunch when I leaned over and put my head in my hand and closed my eyes. She came over and patted me on the arm and said, “Mommy, I sorry you feel bad. I pray, so you feel better.” I think I felt better instantly!

  35. One of the most favorite times for me is the morning when my kids get up (still) and crawl into my lap and say mama. My oldest is almost 9, but I don’t want that to go away. I love the way they sleepily love me πŸ™‚

  36. The other day my almost 5-year-old son told me that I am his “best girl”. Quite an honor, considering his best friend is a girl (and we just moved away from her, so she’s become a legend in his mind!). It made my heart swell with joy!

  37. Well every time my son’s face lights up when I walk in the room is a great mommy momment but I think one of my favorite is the other night I was getting dressed to go out and my 3 year old looked up at me and said, “mommy you’re so handsome!” I had to laugh!

  38. I love taking my 3 year old son to the library. While we were there yesterday, I had several books in my hands. He looked at me and said, “Mommy, do you want me to hold a book? I’m strong like the Hulk!”
    Me:”Sure baby! Thank you!”
Son:”Welcome!” with a big cheesy grin on his face. It was soooo sweet!!!

  39. My all-time favorite mama moment was being at the birth of my youngest adopted daughter and cutting the umbilical cord. Even after 8-1/2 years, I still get teary-eyed remembering the moment she was born…seeing her head, the doctor turning her, and then seeing her beautiful face with her left hand resting on her cheek!

  40. You know, My daughter is such a great kid. But, I’m going down a road that I think no one else is. One day she is being alittle on the “2 year Old side” getting in to everything. Well I had enough, so I proceeded to discipline her when I got stopped in my tracks and she looked st me with those big blue eyes and said, “mommy can I have a hug and kiss”? Wow, what do you do to that when they are so genuine. Well I meted

  41. I have two daughters, 17 and 14 years old, and a four-year-old son. I think my “mom moments” are happening 24/7!!

My 17 year old doesn’t think she’s too old to cry on my shoulder… my 14 year old still asks me to go on field trips with her… and my son says I’m a “good cooker” when he’s eating some crazy mess I threw together after a busy day at work. Not bad. πŸ™‚

  42. This is about my grandkids..
I was hauling all 4 of them out to spend the night with Nana and Papaw. We live in the country, right on the Kings river. We take lots of walks and find many interesting things to talk about.
This one particular day, one of the kids said, “I love going to Nana and Papaws.. we always get to see dead stuff!”.

    (Laurie sent me)

  43. Wow! There are so many with three boys! One from this week was from my 5 yr. old. He said, “I love you so much, and even when I’m taller than you and you aren’t my mommy anymore, I’ll still love you!” I explained that I will always be his mommy even when he towers over me, which won’t be too long since I’m 5 foot tall! He thought that was really interesting that I would always be his mom, even when he’s really big and tall! I love how their little minds work. It’s fascinating!

  44. I was picking up my 6-year-old’s dirty clothes and found a note that said, “I love Mom. She is the best mom I evr had.”

  45. I love attending both my daughters softball games. It means a lot to them that I attend.

  46. My most precious moment of all time was scooping my 6-year-old daughter into my arms in the back of an ambulance after she had been rescued from being lost in the woods alone. I could not believe she was really there, safe and sound, and the feeling of having her warm, sweet self back in my grasp was the most amazing, overwhelming thing I’ve ever felt. She was physically and mentally exhausted, but having her put her hand on my cheek and tell me that she was ok and happy to be with her mommy and daddy were the most beautiful words I’d ever heard. I will never forget the joy of that moment as long as I live.

  47. Kelly,

I can only imagine the joy you felt. I know all of us who were in NWA at the time were elated for you. What a nightmare. I remember being on my way out of the newsroom when I heard that she’d been found. I then stopped by a McDonald’s on the way to cover a meeting. I told the girl in the drive-through window the good news and she immediately turned and announced it to the whole store. Everyone cheered and yelled, they were so happy for your family. Still gives me chills.

  48. One of my most favorite MOM moments is when I chaperoned a school trip to the zoo. While walking with my pre-teen son, he reached over an grabbed my hand. Ever since that day, he has often taken the chance of being un-cool and held his mother’s hand.

  49. There are so many precious mom moments but my favorite is when my children look at me and say “I love you mommy!” πŸ™‚

  50. When I have to go somewhere, my daughter has begun to say things like, “I want you SO much!” It melts my heart.

  51. I actually had one of these yesterday: My 3-year-old son was getting ready for his bath. We scooped in the bath salts to make the water green, he got all the necessary bathtub toys, he took of his shirt and his pants but would NOT take off his underwear. No amount of coaxing would do the trick. So he bathed in his undies, which is ironic because on the last nice day (whenever that was!) I caught him out on our back yard completely naked. So, I had to laugh at his modesty in privacy, but his apparent disregard for modesty out in plain view of the neighbors. Choose your battles!

  52. My favorite is when my 9 year old daughter is holding my 5 month old son and they look at each other and start laughing. It’s the most precious, beautiful thing to ever experience!

  53. Every morning when I go into my daugher’s room, I sing a good morning song to her and she is smuggly and says “Let’s stay here and snuggle just 1 more minute…”It usually turns into several minutes, but oh, it is worth it-She is almost 5 and she will be 18 before I know it-I hope she still wants to snuggle with me!

  54. This last weekend my very busy 13 mo old was sick with a fever. I felt so bad for him but it was nice that he just wanted to snuggle and be held. He’s usually too busy to want to be held for long. Also, when my 5 yr old makes the 13 mo old laugh. They keep laughing at each other.

  55. I LOVE reading about all these great Mom moments!!!

One of the funniest for me lately was when my 2 1/2 year old (Ben) ran up to my 8 month old (Jack) and said “Hi Boo Boo!” I have been calling Jack “Boo Boo” for some time as a nick-name, but it was funny to hear Ben say it.

What’s even funnier is that he gets it wrong about 30% of the time and says “Hi DOO DOO” instead. =-) I’m pretty sure it’s not on purpose. heh.

  56. Ooooh! An easy one! My favorite was just last week when I came home from work. My 23-month-old finally put 2 words together and said, “Mama Home!!” really loud when I walked in. So sweet!

  57. My favorite “mom” moment was being with my daughter when my granddaughter was born. Nothing is more awesome than that.

  58. I have only been a mom for 10 days but so far my favorite moments are when only mommy will do. When my little Alli just wants to snuggle with me. It is so precious. Another would be when she looks up at me with her dark blue eyes and I can’t help but cry because I am so blessed to have her(sorry I am still very emotional. ha)

  59. When my son was 7 years old, we got a hamster. I thought it was a great start to learning about life.
We were cleaning the cage for the first time, and Jordan said, “This is so gross!”
I seized the teachable moment and explained, “Well, everything alive poops.”
    “Even fish?” he asked.
    “Even fish” I confidently answered.
    “Even God?”

  60. I recently gave birth to a baby girl via VBAC (which is a HUGE mommy moment for me)and I have a 22 month old son. My best mommy moment this week was when I asked my “helper” (as he likes to call himself) to go get baby a diaper. Not only did he come back with 2 diapers but he also brought me the wet wipes!! He knew I would need those despite the fact that I forgot to ask for them!!! So sweet!!

  61. Watching Caroline (4) riding down the sidewalk on her now two-wheeled bike with her big pink helmet on–ready to take on the world!

  62. My son loves to snuggle and nurse right before sleep time. Knowing that I am doing something for him by nursing that no one else can do is amazing.
