Life With Ladybug: Of cats and cars

By Shannon Magsam, Ladybug’s mama

Sorry I haven’t updated on my new vehicle search.

I think I’ve narrowed it down to a Toyota RAV4. The plan is to go this week to make the deal. I JUST NOW sent an email to the dealership saying what color I wanted. Whoops! I suppose I can’t drive away in the Classic Silver Metallic version until I say that’s what I want. If you haven’t ever seen one (and I’m sure you have; they’re all over the place), here’s a gander:

Strangely enough (well, for me), almost everything has been done over email. I mean, I had to go to the dealership to take some test drives, but the negotiations have been over email. I love that.

The RAV4 gets decent reviews (all the info on Edmunds was really helpful), but if anyone out there has a cautionary tale, please let me know. Cars ain’t cheap.

In other news, Ladybug got her new kitten from the Fayetteville Animal Shelter. So far, we call her “kitten”. Ladybug’s had so much trouble choosing a name, I’ve been reminded of when I was pregnant with her and absolutely no name under the sun sounded right. Seven years later, I still occasionally wonder if I should have named her something else ….

As far as kitty names, it might be Beauty (ugh), Taylor (huh?) or Gypsy (my favorite). Then again, there’s also Josie (and the Pussycats), Cleopatra (because she looks like a teeny black panther and that makes us think of the Egyptian Queen) or Angel (isn’t she precious?)

I’ll post some pictures soon.  Of kitten no-name and the RAV4.
