Kids and music: Good kids, bad lyrics?

headphones beatsHas this happened to you lately? You’re cruising down the road with your kid in the backseat, jamming out to a great song on the radio you’ve never heard before, and then BAM! You’re scrambling to turn the radio off because the lyrics just took a sharp turn into the gutter. (Yeah, we’re looking at you Bruno Mars and Robin Thicke.)

Maybe your kid is too young to understand the lyrics but that won’t stop him or her from singing it — sometimes within earshot of Grandma or the Sunday School teacher. So what’s a music-loving mama to do?
