Fundraiser to combat the crime of human trafficking

There’s a grassroots expression of the Not For Sale Campaign mission in our state and on Saturday they’ll present the Free2Walk and 5K Fun Run.

This is a fundraiser to raise awareness about human trafficking in hopes to engage the community in combating this crime. The Free2Walk and 5K Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, May 22nd, at 9:30 a.m. to be held at the Razorback Theater in Fayetteville. Families and individuals all over Northwest Arkansas are invited to participate, regardless of age, gender, or skill level.  The early registration fee is $15 and $20 after May 14th. Human Trafficking involves an act of recruiting, transporting, transferring, harboring or receiving a person through a use of force, coercion or other means, for the purpose of exploiting them.

The United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime estimates that there are currently 27 million people that are enslaved by this crime around the world.  Human Trafficking is a $32 billion a year illegal industry, claiming victims as young as 4 years old, and second only to drug trafficking in magnitude.  Examples of this crime include sexual exploitation of children and women through various forms of prostitution, forced restaurant and agricultural labor, domestic servitude, and a great deal more. Not For Sale Arkansas formed to initiate and facilitate efforts in Arkansas to combat this crime locally, nationally, and across the globe.

Exercise your freedom by helping trafficking victims across the globe and join Not For Sale Arkansas in the movement to end slavery in our lifetime!

Not For Sale Arkansas’ mission is to stop the crime of Human Trafficking and end slavery in our lifetime. We are engaged in recruiting and motivating volunteers to work in Rescue and Restore Coalition member efforts, volunteer-initiated projects, and in our own advocacy, detection and victim support initiatives.
