Dear Amy

Dear Amy,
I’m looking for a new foundation for my oily skin. I want a good product that won’t make me break-out, but if I spend more than $20 on it, my husband will have a cow. Help!
Signed,
Beauty budget

Dear Beauty budget,
I feel your pain. I have dealt with oily skin for years and my husband would have a stroke if he knew how much I’ve spent in my quest to find the perfect foundation. (I’m still looking by the way.) We oily-skinned gals do best with powder foundations and oil-free liquids. Steer clear of cream versions – they are usually too moisturizing and can potentially clog pores. Don’t worry. Your budget won’t prevent you from finding a great foundation. There are lots of terrific options at the drugstore. Maybelline, L’oreal and Revlon make department-store quality foundations in a wide range of colors. Just pick a store that has a great return policy. Walgreens, CVS, Target and even Wal-Mart will give you a refund if you have your receipt and the original packaging. Buy several at a time and try them out for a few days. Don’t give up if the first few are duds. Keep trying and returning until you get it right. Good luck!
