Welcome back to our bi-weekly serving of “Good Gossip,” the only celebrity news roundup that you can enjoy completely guilt-free. That’s because we filter out all the nasty, negative stuff that our mamas told us never to spread around about other people. Now, let’s dish:

Their grandmother has given the “okay” for them to attend San Fernando Valley private academy. Their 8-year-old brother Blanket will continue to be homeschooled for now. Remember how old you were when the movie “Back to the Future” hit theaters? back-to-the-future-car.jpgWell, this bit of news might make you feel a tad bit older. The movie just turned 25 YEARS OLD! The original lead actor was Eric Stoltz, but he was replaced a few weeks into filming by Michael J. Fox. The movie grossed $381 million worldwide and led to two sequels, comic books and a cartoon series. Lea Thompson, who played the mom, said one of her favorite lines from the movie is when Michael J. Fox wakes up and she says “That’s your name, isn’t it? Calvin Klein? It’s written all over your underwear.” (Source: People magazine, Sept. 13, 2010)

michael-douglas.jpgThankfully, there is some good news to report about Michael Douglas, who was recently diagnosed with throat cancer. The disease, which hits about 6,000 people in the U.S. every year, has a 60 to 75 percent survival rate when the case is advanced. (For early detection, survival is about 85 percent.) Tests show that Douglas’ cancer has not spread but doctors are treating it aggressively, and the actor won’t lose his voice or his hair. A doctor said “There is a high probability of a cure.” (Source: People magazine, Sept. 13, 2010)

baby-wipes.jpgHere’s a little celebrity quote that only a fellow parent can truly appreciate. When asked recently which superpower she would most like to have, actress Tina Fey said “I’d like to be able to wipe children’s butts with just my eyes.” Fey and fellow comic Will Ferrell lend their voices to the animated stars of the upcoming movie “Megamind“, which opens on November 5th. Ever wonder who came up with the show Yo Gabba Gabba? It was two yo-gabba-gabba.jpg38-year-old new dads named Christian Jacobs and Scott Schultz, who were also skateboard video directors. They thought other preschool shows were uninspired and believed so much more could be done. The directors always use the same people in the costumes because “kids can tell if something’s off,” Jacobs said. The show’s host, DJ Lance Rock, is a real deejay, and he says he feels like a superhero when he’s wearing his orange tracksuit. The show has earned some celebrity fans including Brad Pitt, Jack Black and Christina Aguilera. (Source: People magazine, Sept. 13, 2010)

dylan-mcdermott.jpgActor Dylan McDermott stars in a show on TNT called Dark Blue. (The second season of the show premieres this week.) In a recent interview with People magazine, he said he once had a celebrity crush on Barbara Eden, who starred in I Dream of Jeannie. “I used to watch I Dream of Jeannie after school. I was fascinated by her in that outfit, and I wanted to live in that bottle with her.” (Source: People magazine, Sept. 13, 2010)
