It’s Tuesday, which means it’s a great day for a little “Good Gossip”! Speaking of a great day, did you notice we have a new sponsor for this popular gossip column? It is sponsored by Great Day Foods, which you probably see every time you’re cruising the aisles of the grocery store. (Have you tried the Great Day Sausage Rolls? You can buy them at Sam’s Clubs in Northwest Arkansas, and they are less than 200 calories and ready to eat in a hurry. Love that!)patrick_dempsey1_300_400.jpg

Patrick Dempsey, a.k.a. McDreamy from Grey’s Anatomy, will be playing a tough guy in the upcoming film Transformers 3.  Shia LeBeouf is the lead actor in the film, which will be the third and final movie in the series. It’s release date is scheduled for July of 2011. (Source: People magazine, August 9, 2010 edition)

How can you not love Julia Roberts? Even her print interviews are engaging. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, she talked about taking her family with her around the world while filmijulia-roberts.jpgng the movie Eat Pray Love. When asked what location was her family’s favorite spot, she said “Well, my kids could really make a party in a cardboard box. It’s not hard to please people under four feet tall. They have a great spirit of adventure. …We called it (the movie filming) the World Pool Tour. Everywhere we went, it was so hot, we were just looking for a swimming pool. The fact that they never got sunburned and no one’s hair ever turned green was pretty much my maternal triumph of the summer.” (Source: Entertainment Weekly, August 6, 2010 edition)

After beating breast cancer in 2009, Christina Applegate is pregnant with her first baby! She is engaged to musician Martyn Lenoble, 41. Congrats for the mom-to-be! (Source: People magazine, August 9, 2010 edition)

zac-efron.jpgZac Efron says he always has a skateboard on the set of his acting gigs. “If I lose energy and get tired, I’ll go skate for 10 minutes. It gets my blood flowing and clears my head. I’ve skated since I was 5, and it’s one of my favorite things to do,” he said. When he needs a treat, he grabs a pack of Sour Patch Kids. “Every time I go to the movies, I get a box and devour it before the commercials are over. So I’m sitting there on a sugar high for the rest of the movie.” (Source: People magazine, August 9, 2010 edition)

Newly married, Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher honeymooned in Tahiti. An episode of Bachelorette was also filmed on the island. (Source: People Magazine, August 9, 2010 edition)

st-elmos-fire.jpgOkay, brace yourself. If you’re a child of the 80s like we are, this news may make you feel really ancient. Remember the movie St. Elmo’s Fire? This summer it turned 25 years old! Here’s a little trivia about the movie. Mare Winningham, who was cast as the virgin named Wendy in the movie (the one who was in love with Rob Lowe) was actually pregnant while shooting the movie, and that’s why she wore all those baggy Laura Ashley dresses! The movie made $36 million, which is remarkable because, back then, movie tickets cost about $2. The director Joel Schumacher said he thinks the movie holds up after 25 years because “everyone has their gang and you think you’re going to be friends forever. You really do. And then life happens.” (Source: Entertainment Weekly, August 6, 2010 edition)

mary-j-blige.jpgMary J. Blige, 39, said she used to think beauty was all about the makeup. “…now I know that it’s an intneral thing. It is a job to learn to accept yourself, who’s inside that shell. That’s what makes me feel good. That’s what allows me to go outside without makeup,” she said. (Source: People magazine, August 9, 2010 edition)

The Material Girl’s little girl is growing up! Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes Leon, is madonna-lourdes.jpg13-years-old now and is teaming up with Mom to launch a clothing line called (can ya guess?) “Material Girl.” It’s a juniors’ collection for Macy’s and it launched August 3rd. Lourdes, who goes by the nickname Lola, also writes a blog where she shares her insights on clothing. One of her pieces of advice is “You can never have too much vintagy-thrifty looking stuff.” Mom Madonna says that she respects her daughter’s taste and rarely disagrees with her. Her father, Carlos Leon, said his daughter’s ambition “doesn’t stop,” adding that she may “rule the world one day, like her mom.”(Source: People magazine, August 9, 2010 edition)
