Father’s Day Gift Idea
If you’re still looking for something cool to buy for your dad and/or husband for Father’s Day, here’s an idea for a great gift (that happens to be on sale). We bet your guy would love it. I.M. Spa is offering a Father’s Day Special that includes men’s hair cuts. From June 15th to July 15 the spa’s Block Street neighbors at The Headwaiter are offering $10 off mens’ hair cuts for new clients.
It would make for a relaxing combo: A Gift Certificate for a Men’s Hair Cut and an Executive Chair Massage from I.M. Spa. (Throw in an I.M. Spa mug for the more traditional touch.)
Call for details: The Headwaiter 479-442-2742
Spa owner Wendy Finn shared this story about why your husband, dad or you might need a massage:
I love it when our clients have that “Aha!” moment when they make the connection how bodywork is going to make their body work better. That happened the other day, when one of my clients came in, had some tightness in his low back, but just thought it was one of those things he had to live with. As he left the spa he was excited, saying, “This is going to improve my golf swing. I’m going to have to get my wife in here.”
In his case a tight low back was restricting his range of motion and affecting his ability to get the full, easy rotation he needed from his low back to maintain proper alignment for connecting with that golf ball.
This is true for so many things…
- having trouble looking over a shoulder to merge while driving.
- waking up in the morning with a stiff neck.
- tension from work
- tennis elbow
- tight rotator cuff (shoulder issues)
- for runners it can be spasming calves or tight iliotibial bands
- there are tons of reasons (for my hair dresser it’s her forearms and hands for constantly holding them in the air and working with scissors).
The stress we live through very often puts our bodies in defense mode. Not good. When we get the body to let go of that stress, when we get the muscles to unlock their stranglehold and relax, we can wear our bodies more effectively, achieve our potential more fully…get that golf swing back.

my hubs is a mailman- at times he has a lot of shoulder (rotator cuff, maybe?) pain and a Dr once told him he has arthritis in that shoulder. He’s only 35 now, but I think it makes him feel kind of old and tired. I’m thinking this might be just what he needs! Thanks for thew cool giveaways!
