Hi Jenny, thanks for the question. Each retail carton contains 3 individually sealed containers of puree. Each of those 3 containers weigh 4oz. Once you thaw one of those 4oz containers, you should use it within a couple of days. Re-freezing is not recommended. Once baby starts really eating, you'll have no problem seeing the bottom of that container...trust me. Lucy started out eating only a few spoonfuls at 5 1/2 months, but we were up to 2oz meals by 6mos and 4oz+ meals by 8mos. She didn't mind having the same familiar taste for a couple of meals in a row, sometimes mixed with other purees for added variety.

I looked into smaller packages, but didn't find any plastic composites that I feel are safe for baby. For now, the plan is to stick with 4oz servings.

Thanks for your question!

This is interesting - thanks for the information! I am curious, though, about the sizes of the containers. I looked on the website, and it looks like each container of food contains three 4-oz servings. In the FAQ, it says after you thaw it, you need to use it within 48 hours. So, that means you would have to feed the baby the entire container within that time - essentially feeding the same meal three times in a row. Are there (or are there going to be) single serving packs? Or can the foods be re-frozen?
