Note from the mams: Congratulations to Joanna Gray, winner of the Potted Potter tickets. Have fun, Joanna!

If you love Harry Potter books — or if you’ve always wanted to know what all the fuss was about — this is a show you’ve got to see! We’ve got FOUR tickets to give away for the perfect family night out to see Potted Potter, The Unauthorized Harry Experience: A Parody by Dan & Jeff.

The tickets are for the show at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16.

This show condenses all 7 Harry Potter books into 70 very funny minutes. All your favorite Harry Potter characters will be there plus lots of props, music, costumes, a game of Quidditch, a fire-breathing dragon and some Hogwarts magic, too.

Written and performed by two-time Olivier Award-nominated actors Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner, the show is a must-see for Potter addicts and a great introduction to the series — even if you don’t know the difference between a horcrux and a Hufflepuff. According to the critics, POTTED POTTER will make you roar with laughter.

ABOUT THE SHOW: Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner originally ‘potted’ some of the creations from J.K. Rowling’s world when they were asked to create a five-minute performance for a bookstore, to launch the sixth book. With a cast of only two, Dan & Jeff take on the ultimate challenge of potting all seven Harry Potter books into seventy minutes. CLICK HERE for more info on Potted Potter and to see a video.

Potted Potter quote

“The duo casts the perfect spell over the audience.” said The New York Times. Dan and Jeff have been bringing the best in family entertainment to the stage since 2006. Potted Potter saw them win widespread acclaim and a fan base that crossed three generations. It played four sell-out Fringe seasons, three sell-out London seasons and extensive national and international tours. This brilliant family entertainment is perfect for ages six to Dumbledore (who is very old indeed).

  1. I’m terrible at keeping the book titles straight. I did like all the books and believe the books on audio are the best way to enjoy them. Jim Dale is a superb narrator! I thought the casting in all the movies was really great, but the Professor Umbridge woman really sticks out. Much of that story takes place in the Ministry of Magic and I just loved that one.

  2. My favorite movie is the first one, I just love Harry’s first foray into Diagon Alley! I can just imagine the exhileration and awe that going into that world would elicit. My favorite book is probably The Prisoner of Azkaban, the movie just did not capture enough of the detail of this book, with the Mauraders Map and the patonuses. It is truly a good read. Also the last book, The Deathly Hallows. It was a wonderful book, fantastic writing coupled with the bittersweet fact that the series was over. My daughter is only 4 but I cannot wait to share the Harry Potter series with her as well

  3. Carrie Browning says:

I have to admit I have not read the books, but have watched the movies with my daughter. I loved the first movie, because of the excitement and love of Harry Potter that it gave her. She went on to read all of the books and see all of the movies. I have watched her shed real tears for Harry!! I love her love of reading!!

  4. Joanna Gray says:

I love the first book and movie!

  5. I have to admit that I am not the Potter fan in my house but I would love to treat all the rest of the people in my house to a Harry Potter show for Valentine’s Day!

  6. the first movie would be the best

  7. Sherrie Hankins says:

Good or bad I live them all!

  8. Sonya Kirsch says:

My absolute favorite book is the Prisoner of Azkaban

  9. Mischelyn K says:

My boys loved the whole series. I am currently re-reading this series. :)

  10. Stephanie Mosley says:

I loved the final movie the best.

  11. I am happy to admit that I have read all of the books numerous times! My favorites are The Sorcer’s Stone, Prisoner of Azkaban and The Deathly Hallow’s. Oh, and my boys love them too. ;)

  12. Jessica C says:

My favorite Potter book is STILL number 5.

  13. I’m waiting to read the books with Brandon when he’s old enough…the wait is killing me! His favorite movie is the first one, but he DOES NOT like number 3.

  14. Can’t beat the first book and “watching” this new magical world unfold.

  15. The Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite book. I agree the movie was good, but not nearly as good as the book.

  16. Gail Halleck says:

My ten year old daughter loves all the movies and books. Hope we win!

  17. Tonia Harbour says:

I loved ALL the books! My boys liked the Goblet of Fire movie best. I think they like the excitement of the competitions and the dragons!

  18. This would be fun for a date night with my son. A great reason for wanting to win this prize.

  19. Angela Shadduck says:

My sone is a HUGE Harry Potter Fan! I saw this yesterday and he would just die to go! I made him read the entire series before he got the movies for christmas! He was HP for Halloween and I hope that we get to take him!

  20. I like the last 2 movies best, but I will watch any of them. Which is interesting to note, because there are very few movies I’ll watch more than once.
My son (11 y/o) and husband don’t like the last 2 movies, I think they like Goblet of Fire best?

  24. My 3 grand daughters would LOVE this and the books. Would be so great to be able to take them.

  25. Not a reader, so I can’t say anything about the books. Loved the movies–1st was the best.

  31. My daughter loves all the movies! She said the first one is her favorite.

  32. Book 3 was my absolute favorite! But probably movie 4 or 5.

  33. Carla Phillips says:

Definitely my favorite HP movie is The Deathly Hallows; Part 2!! Just watched part one this weekend. Time for part 2!

  34. Rosemary Rincon says:

  35. Truth be told I have never read any of the books or seen any of the movies. I have watched my son play the lego wii game though.

  36. The Harry Potrer books are incredible. I have seen SO many kiddos become lovers of reading after exposure to these books. My personal favorite is Order if the Phoenix, but there are incredible aspects to each of them!!

We are now working on reading all of the books to my son (her younger brother). I’ve also shared this on Facebook and e-mailed all of my friends! Woo hoo!

  47. My favorite book was the first one. There is no feeling quite like experiencing Harry’s world for the first time. I wish I could experience it for the first time all over again! This play would be a good opportunity to do so!
