Move over, ladies, because there’s a bigger, better clinic in NWA. Late last month, Mercy celebrated the opening of a new, larger Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Clinic.
It’s a 22,000-square foot facility (which required a $1.3 million investment by Mercy) and it’s located at 1000 S. 52nd Street in Rogers, near the Mercy Rheumatology Clinic and the Mercy Internal Medicine Clinic.
Dr. Scott Cooper, one of the 7 orthopedic surgeons working at the clinic, said that one of the best parts of the new building is that it was built with the capacity to add more doctors to the practice in the future, which helps improve access to orthopedic care in our area.
Currently, the clinic houses 13 providers and has 41 exam rooms as well as 15 “casting beds.” The clinic has earned the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for knee and hip replacement.
Doctors there are now able to do some joint replacements as outpatient surgeries, something that was unheard of a few years ago. Dr. Cooper said this team of physicians also provide sub-specialty expertise in shoulder, spine and pediatric orthopedics.
In addition to Dr. Cooper, the physicians located in the clinic are Dr. W. Cody Grammer, Dr. Michael Griffey, Dr. Chad Jones, Dr. R. Jacob Kaler, Dr. John Mertz, Dr. Gannon Randolph, and Dr. C. Wade Fox. Certified physician assistants located in the clinic are Amanda Hartman, Farrah Jennings, Kindle Simon, Julie Slavik, and Lindsey Smallridge.
